Have you ever thought about how your conservatory is made? You’ll probably be surprised to find that the roof on some conservatories doesn’t match the windows. That’s because the windows come from one manufacturer and the roof comes from another. So when we designed our conservatories we designed it as one system so the roof matches the windows to give you the perfect addition to your home…
Room to relax…a place to retreat…space for spending time with friends and family…
There are lots of reasons to make a conservatory part of your home.
Whether it’s natural light, the space in your house…or the views over your garden. A specially designed conservatory will bring a whole new dimension to your home.
Lean to a conservatory with a single slope for a roof
Gable an Edwardian shaped conservatory that does not slope back at the front of the conservatory, leaving a triangular shaped window frame to the front elevation
Edwardian a square fronted conservatory with a ridge central in the roof
Georgian another name for the Edwardian
Victorian a bay fronted conservatory with a ridge central in the roof, normally with three or occasionally five segments at the front
P-shape a combination shaped conservatory usually made with a lean to at the side of a Victorian or Edwardian shaped conservatory
Polycarbonate. This is a lightweight material which provides good insulation and is cheaper than glass but not as transparent or sound resistant.
Glass is the preferred option as it is strong and transparent. There are several types of glass to choose from.
Double glazed units will improve insulation but combining them with Low-E products and argon filling can improve this still further.
Solar control products (tints or coatings) are most effective at controlling heat from the sun, internal heating and condensation.
Another growing favourite amongst those who go for glass is self cleaning glass which is making the lives of conservatory owners that much easier. This glass uses natural light and rainwater to keep glass cleaner and clearer.
At Bude Windows & Conservatories Ltd we a use the same profile for our frames and roof to ensure a perfect match.
We use the Zoom Conservatory Roof to incorporate the 'Relax 365', glass and as the name suggests this solar glass allows use of your Orangery or Conservatory all year round. We use the Platinum glass which is the most efficient which comes in Aqua, Blue and Neutral.
The glass is self cleaning, Argon filled, has warm edge spacer bar, heat retention 1.0, glare reduction of 42% and reduction in heat transmission of 70%. This allows for a more comfortable and peaceful environment, also ensuring you are cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
